The Public School Foundation (IPSF) is a fiscal agency that owns and manages several donor-advised university scholarship funds for students who have achieved a good reputation from the CHCCS. The City of Irvine offers a scholarship program to help low-income residents participate in programs offered by the Department of Community Services. This program has limited funding available and scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis after applications are reviewed and approved. It may be closed to new applications when funds run out.
Other local education-related charitable organizations can be found on the City's website. The Orange County Community Foundation scholarships are only to be used for educational expenses. If any part of the scholarship goes to expenses other than tuition and books (e.g., room and board, transportation, etc.), it is the student's responsibility to maintain adequate financial documentation about the award of the scholarship and educational expenses; the Foundation does not provide any tax documents. Irvine's STEM CubeSat program has had great success, launching the first two CubeSats built by high school students in California and the West.
